If you only have three days but want the single most famous safari destination in the world, this is the trip. The Masai Mara is Kenya's flagship reserve - dense concentrations of lion, healthy numbers of elephant and buffalo, and, if your timing lines up with July through October, a chance to see part of the wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River. Two nights is enough to get a full day entirely dedicated to game drives, rather than treating the Mara as a rushed overnight stop.
This is a private departure, with your own vehicle, driver guide, and pace throughout. It's one of the most requested short safaris out of Nairobi, and it works equally well as a standalone trip or as the anchor of a longer, multi-park circuit later on.
Pickup from your hotel or the airport by around 7:30 AM, with a short briefing before departure. The drive to the Mara descends through the floor of the Great Rift Valley, with a stop at the escarpment viewpoint for photos along the way. You will arrive in time for lunch at camp, rest, then head out for an afternoon game drive running until around 6:30 PM. Dinner and overnight at Mara Ntulele Camp.
An early breakfast and a packed lunch set you up for a full day exploring the reserve's tree-studded grassland and rolling hills, with a stop at the Mara River, where the wildebeest migration crossings take place during peak season. Game drives continue into the evening before returning to camp. Dinner and overnight again at Mara Ntulele Camp.
After breakfast, you will depart for Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon by around 2:00 PM and dropped at your hotel or the airport.

July to October is peak season, when the wildebeest migration is typically crossing between the Mara and the Serengeti - the single biggest draw for most first-time visitors. The Mara has resident wildlife year-round, though, so a visit outside these months still delivers strong game viewing at a lower price.
Rhino sightings in the Mara are possible but far less common than lion, elephant, or buffalo - worth knowing if rhino is a priority for you.
Pricing is higher from July to December to reflect peak migration season demand - confirm current rates with us at the time of booking.
Groups of 3 or more should confirm final per-person pricing with us directly before payment, since rates scale with group size.
This safari can be extended or combined with Lake Nakuru, Amboseli, or a coastal add-on if you have more time available.
