Overview
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport where your Hangout safaris guide will receive you. Enjoy a scenic transfer to your hotel. After check-in, a detailed briefing kicks off what just might be your Best Holiday in Africa. Overnight bed & breakfast in Nairobi.
Day 2: Nairobi - Ol Pejeta Conservancy
After breakfast, embark on a 4.5‑hour (220 km) drive to the famed Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Check in at your lodge/ camp before heading out for an afternoon game drive. Ol Pejeta is East Africa’s largest black rhino sanctuary and home to the last two northern white rhinos, with groundbreaking IVF efforts to save the species You’ll also find the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Kenya, along with sightings of the Big Five, Grevy’s zebra, cheetah, and more.Dine and enjoy overnight at the camp.
Day 3: Ol Pejeta - Lake Nakuru National Park
Journey about 220 km (4.5 hrs) to Lake Nakuru National Park, stopping en route at the scenic Thompson Falls. Settle into Flamingo Hill Tented Camp before an afternoon safari. Lake Nakuru is renowned for its spectacular flamingo flocks, up to a million strong resting on the algae-rich alkaline waters . Expect to see abundant wildlife like lion, leopard, rhino, cheetah, hyena, plus the Rothschild giraffe. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 4: Nakuru - Masai Mara
Continue onward with a 270 km (5.5 hrs) transfer to the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve. Check in at Zebra Plains Mara Camp, enjoy lunch, and set out on an afternoon game drive. The Mara’s endless savannahs teeming with wildlife and traditional Maasai homesteads. Overnight in camp.
Day 5: Full Day in Masai Mara
After breakfast, choose between all-day safari with packed lunch or morning and afternoon drives that deliver breathtaking wildlife encounters. From July to September, witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, where millions of animals sweep across the plains alongside the Big Five. For a cultural touch, visit a Maasai village at extra cost. Return to Zebra Plains Mara Camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Departure from Nairobi
Following breakfast and check-out, return to Nairobi over 290 km (6.5 hrs). Alternatively, upgrade to a chartered light aircraft flight to Wilson Airport (extra cost). If time permits, enjoy lunch in Nairobi before your guide transfers you to Jomo Kenyatta for your departure.
